Thanks for checking out the poll. I had to remove the password requirement because it was preventing everyone but me from seeing the page (due to a security feature I have on this site). If you don’t know what I’m talking about, don’t worry about it. With the help of a reader, I discovered the problem before I’d finalized the print book and uploaded the eBook to some stores, so I was able to remove the sentence about the password from those versions of the book.

Jillian and Sam have a discussion about the meaning of life. Sam says that without God, life doesn’t have meaning. Any meaning we assign to it is delusional. Jillian agrees that there’s no eternal meaning, but says that life has meaning in the present.
At the end of the novel, Sam makes a deal with Bishop John Barker.
