Amazon Ups the Kindle Ante

Amazon announced today that, as of June 30th, 2010, publishers and authors will have the option of receiving a 70% royalty on each Kindle sale. Certain conditions have to be met. Also, the option will only be available for in-copyright books.

I find the condition about competitive pricing interesting. I’m wondering if Apple’s imminent announcement of its eBook reader and terms have anything to do with the timing of Amazon’s announcement.

    Hi Sarah,

Thanks so much for visiting my blog. It’s great to meet a fellow Canadian author. I’m so glad that you are enjoying the posts. They’re a bit of work, as you can imagine, but it’s a work of love for me. I love biographical historicals about women. I’m currently working on a two book series about the life of Mechthild of Ringleheim.
You have a lovely blog. I’m looking for a way to subscribe.
    Happy writing
    Mirella
